Holly was born at 24 weeks weighing 1 lb 5 oz. Now she is 9 and she loves to write stories and draw pictures, and use her art to bring a smile to peoples faces!

Miss Frankie was born on January 2, 2025! She's learning to walk with assistance and is starting to babble! Her favorite thing to do is hangout with her older sister, Lorelei, and her dog, horse and goats!

Kyler was born on Labor Day (September 2, 2019). Kyler spent 105 days in the NICU. His biggest hurdle was breathing. He also had laser surgery for ROP. Our family still says that Kyler has a special appreciation for life in everything he does. Kyler enjoys playing with his little brother & sister, racing cars, playing football, & building creations (mostly out of recyclables). Kyler is now a healthy & happy six year old who is living his best life in kindergarten!

Colin was born at just 29 weeks weighing 3 pounds, Colin is now 8 years old and thriving. He loves creativity in all forms- drawing, building forts, and letting his imagination run wild.

Claire was supposed to be born on Christmas Eve, but instead arrived on Halloween and came home to us on Thanksgiving. We like to say she's our very festive girl. Now 2 years old, Claire loves bunnies, the color purple, and doing her best to keep up with her big brothers. She's delightfully girly and absolutely adores Minnie Mouse and Peppa Pig.

Piper James was born prematurely at 33 weeks and spent 21 days in the NICU learning how to breathe, eat, and regulate her body temperature. A feisty fighter from day one, Piper continues to carry that same determination and spark with her at six years old. Now finishing Kindergarten, she loves all things artistic especially drawing, singing, and dancing, and brings creativity and joy into everything she does.

Calvin decided to join the party early, arriving at 25 weeks and 2 days! After 120 days in the NICU, he hit the ground running-and hasn't stopped since. Today, this smart and spirited almost-three-year-old is a force of nature. Whether he's learning something new or sharing his incredible love, Calvin lives life at full volume and with total joy.

Davey, 9 years old, was born at 34 weeks at 3 lbs 4 oz. He spent 6 days in the Hillcrest NICU. He currently is an honor student, boy scout, plays basketball, competes in swimming, and is a lego and STEM enthusiast. He loves to take things apart to figure out how they work.

Amelia (Mia), age 11, was born at 25 weeks at 1lb 1oz due to mom's pre-eclampsia. She spent 140 days at Hillcrest Hospital. She came home on oxygen and a continuous medical monitor. She currently is in cheerleading, competitive dance for ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. She's also an honor student, girl scout, plays basketball, volleyball, and competes in team swim. She colored a recreation of her holding daddy's finger in the incubator at 52 days old.

Maggie was born at 33 weeks gestation weighing 4lbs 9oz. Maggie spent 2 weeks in the NICU growing stronger and learning to feed. Now a fun and loving 6 year old she is enjoying school, gymnastics, art, the outdoors and time with her family.

Jackson was born on June 27, 2021 at 31 weeks, weighing 3 pounds 8 ounces. After a 44-day NICU stay at Fairveiw hospital he amazed everyone with his strength and earned the nickname "Superstar." Now an active, happy 4-year-old who loves dinosaurs, monster trucks, and his little sister, Jackson is getting ready for kindergarten next year-still our shining Superstar.

Born on October 22, 2022, at just 26 weeks and weighing 1 pound 9 oz, Ava came into the world fighting after a sudden placenta abruption. She spent 108 days in the NICU at Fairview Hospital and faced a Grade 3 brain hemorrhage, yet she showed incredible strength every step of the way. She followed in her brother's NICU footprints and stole the hearts of everyone who cared for her. Today she is 3 years old and is a sassy little firecracker-fierce, hilarious, smart, and so loving.

Though she be but little she is FIERCE! Miss Estelle arrived almost 7 weeks early and has been keeping us on our toes ever since. She's been doing things at her own pace and on her own terms since day one. She is currently in first grade and she loves dancing, art, gymnastics and running! We love to put Project NICU care packages together as a family and Estelle loves to visit the NICU and the nurses at the hospital where she was born in Albany, New York. We are so grateful to our Project NICU family for showing us so much love and support!

Callan was born at 27 weeks gestation, with severe Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) at just 1 lb 6 oz. He developed pneumonia in his second week of life, which further complicated his fragile respiratory status. Callan went to Boston Children's Hospital at 2 months old, still 5 weeks before he was even due to be born, for a cardiac surgery. He went on to undergo a tracheostomy and g-tube surgery and he finally came home from the NICU after 287 days in the hospital, 100% dependent on his trach tube, ventilator, oxygen and g-tube. Callan has had nine surgeries and his trach was removed in June 2024 due to amazing progress in his respiratory status. Callan has a condition called Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD), which is also called "Chronic Lung Disease" and it is a lung disease due to prematurity. Callan continues to have a g-tube and participates in PT, OT, speech therapy and feeding therapy. Callan continues to be followed closely by a medical team that includes pulmonology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, ENT and endocrine, but he has made amazing progress in his 5 and a half years of life. He goes to preschool, plays soccer, loves playing with his family and friends, is learning to read, and has a constantly joyous, curious and loving demeanor. He is truly a gift to his family and we are thankful for him every day, and for the medical care that has helped him to survive and now to thrive. The support of our Project NICU family has been invaluable in providing education, resources, friendship and a community that understands the multifaceted, emotional and complicated NICU life.
